Guides for setting up and running your on-call roster.

For people on call

Sign up for your own shifts and see everything assigned to you under My shifts.

If you’re on a rotation, you can pick up your own on-call shifts (when your schedule manager gives you self-service access) and always see what you’re assigned to under My shifts.

When this applies

You’re a member who goes on call. To schedule yourself you need Self-service access on the schedule — the Edit own periods permission — which a schedule manager grants in the schedule’s Permissions. Without it you can still view the schedule and see your shifts; you just can’t add them yourself.

Schedule your own shifts

  1. Open the schedule from Schedules.
  2. On the calendar, draw a shift on the day/time you want. With self-service you can only create or edit periods assigned to you — you can’t change anyone else’s.
  3. Submit your change as a proposal — a short comment is optional but helps approvers. An approver reviews it — or, if the schedule has no approvers, it publishes immediately.
  4. Track the decision under Proposals. If applying fails with “schedule changed — recreate”, someone published in the meantime: redo your edit against the latest calendar and propose again.

Check your shifts (My shifts)

Open My shifts from the menu under your avatar (top-right), or go to My shifts. It shows every on-call period assigned to you across all your schedules, in your own timezone. Set your timezone in Personal settings so the times are right.

No edit controls on the calendar? You only have View. Ask a schedule manager for Self-service (Edit own periods) access on that schedule.
